Persian Colourpoint cats were discovered by the planned crossing of Persian with Siamese cats. In 1930 two Americans: Clyde Keeler and Virginia Kobb started to experiment with this particular cross. Later, British scientists continued the work and the results eventually became known in the late 1940s, when the first Colourpoint Persian cats similar to the present ones appeared.

Himalayan Persian cats received their status as a separate breed in Europe in 1955, and in Great Britain in 1957. Nowadays they are mainly bred in America.

Colourpoints are similar in their body shape, type and performed sounds to Persians. They have the blue eyes and acromelanic markings of Siamese or Burmese cats. There are twenty different kinds of Colourpoint Persians which can vary depending on their unique colouring and the colour of the cat's mouth, ears, paws and tail.

Persians are lively, but at the same time much calmer than the Siamese. They love to socialise, enjoying company all the time and are particularly partial to cuddling. They are extremely intelligent, 'talkative' and make friends easily. Female cats look after their kittens with great care and tenderness, while the Tomcats usually also participate in the upbringing with great attention.

I bought my first Colourpoint Persian Cat completely by chance. I became fascinated by its gorgeous character, unusually easy-going attitude, wisdom and sensitivity.

My cats are my hobby. I observe their personality, their behaviour in a group and their relations with other cats and humans. All new kittens give me the unique possibility to watch them growing up both physically and mentally, not to mention the emotional excitement I receive from this pleasurable occupation.

All these relations and emotions enrich human life immensely and help in achieving the proper approach to life and nature.
